Corn on the Cob and Froggie Crochet Hat

This is for Jen. :) Here is Ryan with the corn hat he so desperately wanted last year so he could be the corn on the cob from Plants vs Zombies.

What a goober! Here's another, not much better, picture. :)
Chasey asked for a froggie, so that's what he got. Again, for those interested, I got the main pattern (FREE!) from another blog that I listed in this post. I have had a few people ask for the corn on the cob hat pattern. I will do my best to explain what I did. I followed the main pattern from the other website, but once I got to the ear flaps, I switched colors. Once I finished the ear flaps, the single crochet around the hat and the braids, I made the second (top) half of the corn husks. Basically you are just going to crochet the ear flaps again (but of course not on the hat) and then sew the wider half of it to the hat, matching the green ends together. The top of the husks will be allowed to curl b/c they are not attached. Then follow the eye pattern she gave, but only do one or two rounds based on how large you want the eyes. Sew some buttons on and you're done!

Mom, I want to be corn for Halloween....no, don't think I've ever heard that before. Way to go with those hats!

Way to go on those hats! I have never heard of a child begging to be corn for Halloween, though. I had to laugh at Ryan for that.

I would love the corn cob hat pattern! I can't find it on the other blog you referenced, or any where else online. Could you post it?

Did you find the patter for the hat base? If so, that will make sharing the pattern much easier...I kind of made up much of the green, but I think I can look at it and determine what I did as long as you have the main hat pattern. I will try to post that this weekend.

Thanks!
