Free svg - thank you!!!

Happy Fall everyone!!!

***UPDATE***
I've gotten some feedback that:
1. the requirements are too high to get this file, and
2. people don't want to send out email addresses.

Both of which I completely understand!
Apologies for those of you who have already jumped through so many hoops! You are stellar!!!

I'm changing my approach, because I never wanted to make my blog be "work" for others...the whole point of sharing my svg's is to aid you in your quest for new and fun ways to give!
So see below to find out how much easier you can give this box away to friends and family!

***END OF UPDATE***

Tis the season to be thankful…and I’m thankful for you!
Yes, YOU!
You fellow bloggers and crafters, commenters and laughterers. J

I know I’m not around much anymore and I don’t have a ton of time to create new stuff to share, but I appreciate that I have so many followers and visitors given the amount I blog these days.

I also really, REALLY appreciate all the nice comments that make me feel good about sharing my work. I think your comments are what really keep me motivated to post what I make.

So, as a token of my appreciation for your comments, I have made this svg for YOU.

Thanks again to all of you for taking the time to view and comment on my little  and very humble blog! My very best to all of you this season!

Turkey Cake Pops

Hey all! I actually made these turkey cake pops last year as a thank you to a few people who helped me during my fun post-partum days...I just never posted them! These were some of the easiest cake pops I've made.

Just make cake balls as you normally would and dip in chocolate candy bark or melts. While it's still wet, put the feet (orange flower sprinkles) and the feathers (candy corn) on. If you have time, you can also put on the head (whopper), but I couldn't get a lot of them on in time. No problem though - just dab a little of your melted chocolate on where you want the head to be. I had to hold the head on for a little while to make sure it was set. Then I used some white frosting for the eyes and "glued" on the turkey giblet thingey with more melted chocolate. (No idea what that thing is really called! :) Last I just used the edible markers that I would not buy again and thankfully got a few dots out of it for the inside of the eyes.

Then wrap in little baggies, add a little ribbon, and you're ready to get givin' this Thanksgiving!

Handled Box - free svg

Hi All! I don't know if you're going to be more surprised than I am, but I've actually finished another box file! I know, I know! (Cat in the Hat for those with kids who watch PBS :) This little guy is a nice one to put together because you only need to tacky tape two very small spots.

I originally made this to be all one piece, but found that the dimensions made this box extraordinarily small. Sooooo, I revamped and put it into two pieces so that we could all fit something inside that was bigger than a couple of tootsie rolls. Say what? You wanted to put a couple of your Halloween tootsie rolls into a box to share with your friends? Don't be a cheapskate! And please don't ever tell me I put more work into something than I should have! I'd prefer to find out that my extra work was worth it. ;) Especially since it is so hard to come by these days!

Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy another box cut file!

Fall Leaf Cupcakes

Thought you all might like a fun idea for a treat to give away...you could use the cupcake box in fall colors and come up with a really cute gift!

My sister, Michelle, made these cute little cupcakes. Chocolate with buttercream icing and fondant leaves (made with leaf cookie cutters or sugar paste cutters). In order to get the swirly pattern on the leaves, you just add a few different colors to your fondant and don't mix in all the way.

So cute! Thanks, Michelle!

Canning Gifts

Just a short post to show how I'm giving away some jam we made to friends and neighbors. It took almost no effort on my part to get it done (which is just what I needed after all that canning!). A simple font on a label, a stamped tag with a handwritten note. It doesn't get easier than that! I mean shoot, I didn't even take the time to clean off the table... :) Happy Harvest everyone!!!

Mini Cupcake Box (Free SVG)

This post is a direct result of Tracy in Ecuador requesting a file...thank you, Tracy! Ever since I bought my mini mupcake pan from DI (1.00) I've wanted to make a cut file for this. I mean, hey, we all want to do a lot of things, right? I find, though, that I typically get more done if it's for somebody else...so here it is!
I decided to make brownies for the women I visit because I thought the brownies with nuts would be fun for fall. You'll notice the box here is a little tall for the brownies, but I did that on purpose. I wanted it to be tall enough that I could make a swirling tower of frosting on cupcakes should I want to put those in next time.

Here are the files for the mini cupcake box along with the dimensions you'll want to size them at in order to get them to fit together right.

Free SVG
Mini Cupcake Box Top .svg - keep proportions, size width at 9.327"
Mini Cupcake Box Bottom .svg - keep proportions, size width at 11.4"
Mini Cupcake Box Insert .svg - keep proportions, size width at 8.0935"

I didn't have any brownie mixes, so I took a chance on a homemade recipe that was highly acclaimed on Recipezaar. I actually thought it had a really good taste. If you want it, here it is: Brownies

Freebie Cut File - Week #23

Calie designed this box for us using the Tall Rectangle Box file I gave her. Isn't it darling? The acetate is a really fun way to use this box...and I love her little bands at the top and bottom AND the sentiment! Thanks Calie for such a cute, fun idea for the fall holidays!!!
Here's her blog if you want to head over, check out her stuff, and say hi! http://caliescreativecorner.blogspot.com

Creative Cuts and More Blog Hop!

Hello blog followers and visitors from the Die Cut Diva Blog Hop! Welcome!!! You’ve probably just come from Angie’s blog…If not, you can start at the beginning by going to http://www.diecutdiva.com/. You really don’t want to miss out on all the great projects and the blog candy they've got! And, as if you needed more motivation, they have a 15% coupon code for all who visit that site! I ADORE coupons!

I have two projects for you today. For those of you who have been here before, you probably know that I have a fetish for boxes. OK it’s more of an addiction.
For this project, I used the French Fry Box in Caramel Curious Metallics, Leaves #03 – mini in Bronze Curious Metallics, and the Buckle #01 Set in Cappuccino Curious Metallics, and I have to say, I am all over these cuts and colors. This is probably my favorite box cut out of all five of the ones I chose for my projects this month. It’s gorgeous! I don’t know if you can see it in the pic, but the paper shimmers and just looks really rich and elegant. (And I love elegant!) The paper is nice and thick too. I can’t say enough about it. I love how it stands – perfectly. I’m happy just looking at it!

This other project uses their Basket with Handle in Tangerine Blast Bazzill Smooth. It’s such a fun and versatile basket. There’s another great project using this cut for Easter that you can see on the website. And don’t forget to get that great Red Tacky Tape! It’s a must for these boxes!
Now head on over to Carla's to see what amazing things she has in store you!!! Thanks for stopping by!

Chicken Noodle Soup

This is a great recipe from a woman in my ward (Caryolyn Johnson for those of you who know her). When I got sick a few weeks ago, I made this for dinner, and then I ate it for breakfast and lunch for days in a row. It was the only thing that sounded good to me!

Chicken Noodle Soup

1 onion

1 cube butter

1 1/2 qts water

14 oz can chicken broth

1 chopped carrot

1 stalk celery chopped

1 potato chopped

1/2 chicken breast, cooked and cubed

1 can cream of chx

1 can evap milk

basil, salt, pepper, garlic salt, Mrs. Dash

2 c uncooked egg noodles

Sautee onion in butter. Add broth, water, vegetables, and seasoning. Cook about 20-30 min. Add noodles and chicken. Cook until noodles are done. Add milk and cream of chx. Stir and cook until mixed in.

Canned Apple Pie Filling

I've been wanting to do more food storage...so my next adventure is in canning! I went to a friends house last week and we did a bjillion (yes, that's totallly a word/number) cans of apple pie filling. I was so excited to do this! So I've done peaches and applie pie filling now. I'm going to be asking for a canner and the utensils for Christmas, so, Mom Ford, if you have those cans still...I know someone who might want them! (ME!) I just wish I had more time for these things. It's so fun, especially when you do it with friends.

Here's the recipe for the applie pie filling. It makes about 7 quarts.
4 1/2 c sugar
1/2 tsp nutmeg
2 tsp cinnamon
1 c cornstarch
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp lemon juice
10 c water
A LOT of peeled, cored, and sliced apples

Mix corn starch and sugar, then combine the rest of the ingredients and boil until filling gets dark, a little more translucent, and thickens. Keep very hot! As soon as the filling is done, put apple slices in hot quart cans to fill halfway. Then pour filling up to where apples end. Fill the rest of the jar with apples, stuffing to bottom of the part where the jar becomes the lid. Put more filling to same place. Burp the can by knife or by moving it side to side. Wipe the top of the can VERY well with a damp cloth. Put a boiled lid on and then twist into place. Put into canner with boiling water. Water should cover the tops of the lids. Cover canner with it's lid once all cans are inside and boil for 30 min. Do not start timer until the water is boiling. When done, put hot cans on a counter or table away from any drafts and place towel over them. Let cool for 24 hours. Test to make sure they sealed. This makes really good pies! And you can also put at the bottom of a 9x13 dish and pour yellow cake mix over the top for a really easy and yummy dessert or use in a cobbler!
