Cut File Freebie - Week #13

Once again, not the best pictures, but I wanted to show it next to a regular size cookie tower so you could see the difference. I quickly cut it out and took a picture just before going out of town so it's not all put together with cookies and done up nice. Oh well. Hope it shows a decent representation. :)

For a while, I've been meaning to make a smaller version of the cookie tower because I don't always have enough cookies to give away a dozen to numerous people after my husband and children get to the cookies! So, I've just made the cookie tower smaller for about a half dozen cookies for those times...and for people without a bunch of kids to help them eat a dozen cookies.

So here is the .scut file:
Small Cookie Tower - .scut
Small Cookie Tower - .svg

I know this one did not take a whole lot of effort on my part since I'm just making a file I already have smaller, but I thought it would be useful (and I'm on vacation). So, easy it is today! Have a great weekend!!

I just wanted to stop by and say thank you for posting your cut files. I unfortunately can not use them because I only can use cut files that can be done on the Cricut Design Studio. But it is so awesome and generous of you to share any of your handy work..no matter how big or how small!
Hugs,
Lisa

Melinda,
That is so awesome making the smaller size. Can I cut this with the 6X12 mat? I sure hope so. And I also have 3 boys. I can't imagine saving more than 6 from any baking to giveaway. LOL.

Thanks Lisa!

Sue -
This is a 9" file, so it cannot be used on the small mat. However, I am planning on making one for the smaller mat size, as I have had some requests. :) Hopefully later this week!

I absolutely LOVE your cookie tower!!! I've made several. I was thinking about trying to make it smaller today, and you already did! Thank you! What did yous use for the window cut-out? It doesn't show when I preview. I was just going to swap it out, but I can't seem to select it to delete it. Thnaks again!!

Melinda, It is so nice of you to offer these files free. I am new to using SCAL and my Cricut...I have a few questions on your files...would you please email me at cynthia.burgess@att.net. When I download your file and open in SCAL v2.0, the format seems to be off. I am sure I am doing something wrong..I just don't know what I am doing! Thank you so much!!!

Good idea to make a smaller tower. I usually end up with less cookies to give than I anticipated too. I love those papers. They are fabulous!

Thanks again for a great file! This came in really handy today when I needed a pick me up for a friend! I did not want to give her a whole dozen cookies, because then she would complain when she ate them all! You are great!

I love your files! I am new to SCAL (I bought SCAL 2 last night) too and when I try to open these, they have something at the bottom of each file that messes it all up. It looks like a bunch of circles, squares, etc. What am I doing wrong? Could you email me at aymee810@yahoo.com as well. I would love to make one of these. Thank You!

Melinda~
I was able to successfully cut out the smaller box but the window did not cut out....any ideas? Thanks.

Sara,

You probably don't have the font called db geo deco solid. If you want the exact window I have, you can purchase a whole bunch of shapes under this font for $3 at scrapnfonts.com. If you have another shape you like, simply insert it under the flap at the top. That will get it in the front window...but you'll need to place it right. :) If you do have the font, try checking the welding! HTH. Hope it works.

Hello: I apologize if you've already answered this because I am sooo new at this but have you managed to make a cookie tower yet that I can cut using a 6x12 mat. I really don't want to have to upgrade just so I can make this adorable boxes and towers so I am hoping someone with far more skill than myself can help me out. Your creations are just wonderful. Thanks as always for sharing your talent.

Donna,
No worries! I have made one that is pieced for those with the baby bug. It is listed under cut file - week #14 with the frankenstein tower. I know I've seen some people's cookie towers that they made with the small version. You have to download two files and then tape them like I showed for the frankenstein tower. Good luck! Let me know if you have any other questions.

I keep getting an error when I download the file. Any suggestions?

When I open it in SCAL, I find circles and squares all over the place as well. Is there a cure for this?

Melinda Ford said...

Jan,

You are supposed to have circles and squares. I actually designed it in scal and not as an .svg. Just make sure that all the squares and circles are welded together and you should be fine! Hope this helps!

I love this cookie tower box cut file! It's perfect, but I can't seem to download the file. When I click on the download link it tells me it's a protected archive file and requires login to Mediafire. Is this still available for download?
Thanks so much!

Melinda Ford said...

Hi Katarina,

I'm not sure why you have to log in to Mediafire. This is a 4shared.com file. I just tried the link and it worked perfectly for me. It is definitely still available for free download. Give it another try...if it doesn't work, let me know and I will email it to you!

Thx!
