Winter Snowflake Cupcakes
Published :
9:02 AM
Michelle made these delicious and oh so cute cupcakes to share on here. This is what she says about making them:
"I used the free font ww flakes and printed out the flakes the sizes I wanted. I put wax paper over the paper and used royal icing and piped the flakes. When they were set I used edible glitter and used a paintbrush to brush on the glitter. I used 1M swirl for the blue icing and that is all. "
Great idea, Michelle!

Under the Sea Cake and Cupcakes
Published :

For the cake, I used a 6" cake pan with two layers. Butter cream frosting, of course went on top. I covered it with blue loosely and tried to make it look like it had swirly waves on it, which is actually easier than trying to get it smooth anyway! Then I used graham cracker crumbs for the island. I also used just a little bit of white frosting on a knife and ran it lightly over some of the peaks of blue frosting to give it more of a wave look.
I used round and leaf tips for the sides of the cake for various things. For the seaweed, the leaf tip was used. For the coral, I used the round tip and piped circles, one on top of the other until it got as tall as I wanted it. I also used the round tips (various sizes) for all of the animals on the cake. Be careful as you try to pipe the turtles on the sand. They basically want to just come right up with the graham cracker crumbs.
Star Wars Birthday Cupcakes

For the large swirly cupcakes, I just used my largest star tips and went around in a circle with the frosting that I pushed out. I also made a second circle on top of the first circle, just in the middle to give it some height. Then, I immediately put on the sprinkles so they would stick to the frosting before the outside hardened.
Barnyard Cake with Animal Cupcakes

I made these little guys for my friend Trisha a few years back. We did a little trade and she gave me some amazing cards in return. The animals are just done in buttercream frosting. The cake was a 9x13 that I cut to look like a barn. If you are trying to make this and you want more specifics for how I made the animals (i.e. what tips etc), leave me a comment and I'd be happy to put that in for you!
