Baby Shower Gifts

My newest sister-in-law, Tiffany, came down on Father's Day weekend and we had a baby shower for her. Six out of the seven kids in my family were there and we had a great time. I thought I'd show you all just how stinkin talented my sisters are and how much I pale in comparison (not that I wanted you to know that...it just kinda comes out).

My younger sister Miriam made this super cute diaper cake. I love how it turned out and the colors and ribbons she used!

My sister Mindy (the same one who makes the incredible cakes) made this rag quilt with matching diaper bag. Isn't it so cute!? You really need to see the bag up close to fully appreciate it. Not only were the colors amazing, but it had pockets and closure and everything. Uh-mazing!
And then of course, there's my sister Michelle. She's always been a great seamstress, but I think she outdid herself this time. I mean, seriously? Monkeys, trees, dots, etc. I love this! I'm stealing it, Tiffany...do you hear me?
She also made this really cute naughty stool. Is that an oxy moron? At any rate, I loved this too. She made the little stick figures. I think she drew them by hand and then put them into the computer to cut them out with her cricut.
And then there's me. My other sister and I went in on a couple of baskets. This is one of them...a bath basket. Totally useful, but not very creative. :( Though I did spray paint the two baskets white so they matched. Kudos, Melinda.

Baby Shower Invitation

I have a good friend who is having TWINS...aaaah, right?! Plus she has a four year old and a two year old. I'm helping out with a baby shower and this is what I came up with for the invite. Just thought I'd share in case someone needs an idea down the road!

I used the fonts CK Chemistry and Albemarle Swash (free) for the text and DB Sweet Baby for the strollers and DB Pretty Borders for the polka dots and scallop with flowers. Those can be found at Scrapnfonts.com for $3 each.

Baby Bunny Card

Another simple card for baby. For this card I used Stretch Your Imagination. Then I used more Provo Craft acrylic stamps for the saying and flowers.

Duckie Baby Blankie

One more blankie to share for now.  I got this cute little duckie from Scrapnfonts.  It's a doodlebat called DB Baby.

Baby Blanket

Here's another appliqued blanket I made using my cricut. I just love that machine!  I used the Zooballoo cartridge for the little bunny rabbit...I can't remember where I got the heart from.  Follow the same instructions as on a previous post!  These make really great gifts for baby showers, and if you know them well enough, you can coordinate what you make with their plans for the baby room!

Baby Cards

I had so much fun making these cards. I got a new stamp set earlier this summer and I used the cricut for the frames.  I also used a sheet protector for the "rattle" with the buttons inside.  I REALLY enjoyed making these. Thanks ProvoCraft!

Whale Appliqued Blanket

This blanket I made using my cricut, but it was my first applique. I can't believe how well the cricut cut out the fabric (which I mounted under wunder to). This is actually the paisley from the accent essentials cart, but I used the shadow for a whale! I'd like to try some more sometime. I need to get better at applique! Someone asked for more information on this...so here it is. I had the cricut settings as follows: Pressure - Max, Speed - High, Needle - 5 I mounted the wunder under before I cut. I've done quilting cotton and flannel so far. P.S. it won't cut felt! Good luck and have fun with fabric!

First Cricut Card

This one is one of the first cards I've done using my cricut, which I absolutely love! I used the Zooballoo cart.  Very simple and cute idea for baby gift.  I don't think an explanation is needed on this one.
